Like the General Board of Global Ministries (the global mission agency of The United Methodist Church), Westbury UMC seeks to be faithful to God's mission throughout the world. We are all about making disciples, building up the church, alleviating suffering, and promoting justice, freedom and peace.
With that in mind, the Global Missions team of Westbury UMC plans to expand its dedication to and support of global missions. The 2011 goals are to increase mission trips beyond our city, increase our local missions that have global impact and offer a more focused support of missionaries.

Missionary Support
Westbury UMC currently supports Jerri and Bill Savuto, Missionaries at Maua Methodist Hospital in Kenya. Read words from the Savutos about the work they are doing and the difference our partnership and the support of others helps with:
"In the midst of suffering and hardships we see God’s love all around us. During this Lenten season we may feel 'troubled, but we are not crushed; sometimes in doubt, but never in despair; surrounded by enemies but never without a friend; and badly hurt but not destroyed.' With God, the source of our hope, we are 'filled with joy and peace by our faith in Him and our hope overflows.' Particles of love overflowing with hope!! Wow! What a difference you and I can make in a suffering and hurting world as we bump along!"
